GREY
I've been reading GREY, Christian's side of 50 Shades and I have to say, I LOVE it! I didn't read the other 3 50 Shades books because I saw the movie first, but in reading GREY, Christian's side of things I just love it. He's a lot funnier than he comes across in the first movie (I hope they bring it out more in the 2nd and 3rd movies). He's also a lot dirtier thinking, and very, VERY naughty.
I found in reading GREY that its exactly like the movie but better. I found that the movie cut a LOT out and I do mean a LOT! They took out some really good parts and parts I think the movie watchers should have seen, especially if they aren't willing to read any of the books. They also mixed up parts, they moved parts of the story around and the elevator scene, is completely different than it was in the book. In the movie you don't get to know Elliott as well as you do in the book, he gets a lot more time in the book, more attention. I think they should have added that in the movie because Christian has a hard time connecting with people and this would have shown that his trust for others isn't just on Ana, that he does trust his brother, looks up to him. I don't know why E.L. James would have allowed them to take that all away.
Also in reading the book, you get a total different perspective on Christian. We already know Ana, she's the same in the books but Christian, he's a different person when you read about him. If you didn't like him in the movie, you'd love him in the book. Getting inside the head of a man like him.... nothing sexier. It makes you fall in love with him without even knowing it.
As I was reading GREY last night, I put on the movie, in watching the movie, I was noticing things from the book. Like when Christian looks Ana in the eye, if you've read the book you know what he's thinking and knowing what he's thinking watching the movie makes it more intense, a lot sexier, more passionate.
Okay, enough with being POLITE!! Time to be ME! ;)
WARNING, THIS MAY NOT BE FOR THOSE FAINT OF HEART!
"I'd like to bite that lip."
"I think I'd like that too."
50 Shades of grey is a very sexy book, I have to say. It's full of erotica and BDSM, and things some of us never knew existed that people did! Some have said that it's abusive ... GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK! There's NO abuse in the books nor movie. The girl has to read over a contract that's overly detailed and very well written, hiding nothing. She has to agree or disagree to what she's willing to do, have done to her and try. This makes NONE of what you see or read abuse of any kind. She has her code words for when she's had enough and if she can't take it, at any point she can leave the relationship and never do any of it again. So abuse my ass! People these days like to scream and cry about every little thing! It's pathetic. What E.L. James did was bring the taboo to light and make people think, pushed the limits and opened our eyes to things that we're not supposed to talk about. But why not? If idiots like Miley Cyrus can run around naked all the time, then why can't we watch or read things like this?
Would I try any of what I saw in the movie? Read in the books? Maybe! YES, I said MAYBE! I don't know if I'd want someone hitting my ass with a paddle but I think being tied up, blind folded, cuffed, feathers over the body, ice down my body would be so fucking passionate and erotic.
Who doesn't want to have amazing sex? Who doesn't want the ultimate orgasm? Who wouldn't want to feel such intense pleasure? I know I would!
Obviously from my blogs you're seeing that I'm not afraid to talk about sex. Why should I be? It's EVERYWHERE! You can't get away from it and why should you try? But, there's a way to talk about it in a respectful manner without coming across as a complete slut. Which is how I hope I come across. I'm no slut, but I love sex!
One thing I found hard to believe watching the movie but understood better reading the book was how Ana was a virgin! That not only was she a virgin that she'd done NOTHING sexual with a man EVER! Christian was more than surprised by finding this out, he was in awe of her, so overwhelmed that he made love to her, he didn't "fuck hard".
Ana's first sexual experience was very sexy, passionate and erotic, full of lust and admiration. He admired her for waiting, for having the self control and respect. Like she said, she didn't find a man she liked, until Christian. For a virgin to be thrown into the world of BDSM is intense! She must have been not only out of her comfort zone but confused, nervous and probably a little scared. Who wouldn't be that's never tried it or even heard of it? I'd be nervous and a little scared, his room is pretty overwhelming and shocking. She was brave walking in there however, I think many would have taken one glance and walked away.
CHRISTIAN .... sigh....
When I first saw the movie I wasn't a huge fan of Jamie, I didn't think he was the right Christian. I didn't think he had the looks to pull it off or the body. Then, I watched Marie Antoinette, and noticed Jamie was the man that Marie had an affair with, surprising because I found his character in that movie very sexy. It wasn't until reading GREY and being able to get into his head that I found him sexy, VERY SEXY! I found the parts when he looks Ana right in the eye to be such a heart racing, pulse pounding moment. I found the sex scenes to be far more erotic.
BUT......
Did you know.... Anne Rice did it WAY BEFORE E.L.James?!
Anne Rice wrote the Beauty chronicles, they are really, REALLY FUCKING HOT!
They are erotic BDSM novels set in a medieval fantasy world, loosely based on the fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty. The novels describe explicit sexual adventures of the female protagonist Beauty and the male characters Alexi, Tristan and Laurent, featuring both maledom and femdom scenarios amid vivid imageries of bisexuality, homosexuality, ephebophilia andpony play. I found Anne's books to be more of a turn on than the 50 Shades books.
I guess it's up to the reader what they like.
